Job Description

IVF Case Manager Requirements: Bachelor's Degree preferred. Graduate of an accredited RN program. Current ACLS certification within 30 days of hire Current RN license Qualifications: Minimum 2-5 years, recent clinical experience in IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) or Infertility required. Competency to be able to evaluate, assess, plan and implement the IVF treatment plan as outlined by the IVF MD, including patient education and injection teaching. Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required. Bilingual capability preferred, but not required. Computer skills required for effective communication and statistical data entry. Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment with patients, peers, staff and other members of the IVF team. Appropriate knowledge level of the infertility/IVF patient and clinical outcomes to make independent decisions based on his/her problem-solving ability. Ability to care for and communicate with the extremely anxious IVF patients. Must have a history of demonstrating consistently high quality service-oriented behavior toward patients, providers, visitors and staff at all times. . Duties: Under the immediate supervision of the IVF Center Manager. In collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals, plan, assess and provide IVF patient care according to department policies and procedures and Continuous Quality Improvement practices. Will assist patient undergoing surgical procedures, egg retrievals and transfers. Patients may be anesthetized and recovering post procedure. Handles emergency procedures and reports untoward patient events per protocol. Educate patients about the IVF process / procedure, as well as perform patient injection teaching and medication education. Days of the week and starting and ending of shift may vary based on the operational needs of the department. Responsible for accurate completion of all tasks and functions related to continuous readiness for this survey able clinic. Provide consultation services and coordination of care to patients who opt to pursue IVF.
